Agenda:

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Neuro: Interpreting Gonioscopy, COPE Pending, Marcus Gonzales, OD, FAAO (1 hour)
This 1-hour course focuses on how to interpret the angle during gonioscopy. It will review techniques to correctly differentiate angle structures and provide examples of angle findings associated with different diseases.

9:15 AM - 10:15 AM: Primary Angle-Closure Disease, COPE Pending, Marcus Gonzales, OD, FAAO (1 hour)
This 1-hour course reviews the various presentations of the primary angle-closure disease spectrum. It will review techniques and technologies available to diagnose the condition. It will conclude with the most recent evidence-based medical approach to managing the disease complications.

10:30 AM - 11:30 AM: The Power of Healing: Amniotic Membranes-Past, Present and the Future, COPE Pending, Marina Su OD, FAAO (1 hour)
Optometrists are well trained and equipped to manage ocular surface disease; however, amniotic membranes still remain very underutilized as a treatment option. Awareness of ocular surface disease has heightened due to the increased usage of digital devices as well as various environmental changes.  Due to the ease and access of amniotic membranes currently available, doctors should consider a systematic approach in managing ocular surface disease and enhance their treatment options to provide full spectrum care to their patients. Review of anatomy and science behind amniotic membranes, currently available membranes and differences between them, and clinical pearls will be discussed to provide doctors with the confidence to offer this service to patients when appropriate. In addition, new advances and co-management with corneal specialists will also be discussed.

11:45 AM - 12:45 PM: Top 10 Medications and Their Ocular Side Effects, COPE 93273-PH, Blair Lonsberry, OD, FAAO (1 hour)
Patients present taking a variety of medications, both topical and systemic. This interactive presentation will review the top 10 medications patients take and review the ocular side effects that can occur.

1:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Oral Pharmaceuticals in Primary Care Optometry, COPE 89863-PH, Blair Lonsberry, OD, FAAO (2 hours)
This interactive course examines the use of oral pharmaceuticals in the treatment/management of a variety of conditions that the clinician will encounter in primary care optometry. Topical areas will range from managing conditions affecting the ocular and periocular tissues.

3:45 PM - 4:45 PM: Having a Field Day with Visual Fields, COPE Pending, Marina Su OD, FAAO (1 hour)
Visual fields are one of our more powerful diagnostic tools in assessing various diseases of the visual pathway. This course will approach it from a clinical grand rounds type of format in which it is more reflective of how we are confronted with visual field findings in everyday patient care and how we utilize visual fields to aid in our diagnoses and management of the patient.  Review of the visual pathway, differential diagnoses and reminders of important visual findings will also be presented.
